Felícia Sousa is originally from Gondomar. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and furthered her training with the Contemporary Art History programme at the Serralves Foundation, between 2001 and 2003. She later completed a master's degree in Design and Marketing from the University of Minho, followed by a scholarship at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2006–2007, during which she also attended specific training in glass fusion in Marinha Grande.

This diverse academic background reflects an equally varied practice: Felícia Sousa is a painter and independent curator, moving naturally between artistic creation and mediation. Her work is part of the collection of the Museu da Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida, a distinction dating back to the 1991 Acquisition Prize, and reaffirmed with a second Acquisition Prize in 2019, from the Boeira Hotel Garden.

Over more than two decades, she has taken part in nationally recognised biennials: Cerveira, Marinha Grande, Gaia, Espinho, and in awards such as the Arte Erótica de Gondomar, where she has been distinguished on several occasions.

Her international presence has extended to the Romanian Parliament, the Crearium Gallery in Huesca and Madrid, Populonia Castle in Tuscany, and the Galerie des Arts in Paris.

In 2024 she held the solo exhibition Silêncios Rasgados (Torn Silences) at the Gabinete da Bienal de Vila Nova de Gaia, and in 2025 she presented Metamorfose dos Sonhos (Metamorphosis of Dreams) at the Casa da Cultura de Paredes, a venue where she also runs contemporary mixed-media workshops.

Curatorial work occupies a central part of her recent activity. She was curator and participating artist at the Bienal Internacional das Artes em Madeira de Paredes in 2024, and has developed curatorial projects for the Município do Peso da Régua, the Casa da Cultura de Paredes, the Museu do Móvel de Paços de Ferreira, and the Casa da Presidência de Vila Nova de Gaia. In 2025 she conceived and coordinated the project O Estranho Terrível Outro (The Strange Terrible Other), at IPATIMUP, bringing together art and science around the work of pathologist Sobrinho Simões and artist Agostinho Santos.
