Learn more about the artist's life and work

Eduardo Verde Pinho was born in Porto in 1962. He graduated in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University in 1985 and, in 1994, completed the Advanced Course in Photography at ESAP (Escola Superior Artística do Porto).

He began his exhibition career in photography, participating in exhibitions in Porto, Afurada and at the Museu da Imagem de Braga. From 2005 onwards, he focused primarily on painting, presenting solo exhibitions at Galeria Minimal and AP’ARTE Galeria in Porto, as well as taking part in ARTE LISBOA in Lisbon.

Among his most notable exhibitions are Na Procissão (2001), Com Fixos Olhos Rasos de Ânsia (2002), Monstros, Mitos e Heróis (2008), De Perto Ninguém é Normal (2012) and Um e Meio por Um e Meio (2019). He also participated in the group exhibition Mostra 2106, held in Porto and Lisbon, and his work is represented in several private collections in Portugal.

His practice lies at the intersection of photography and painting, exploring images, characters and references from everyday life through a visual language marked by irony, strangeness and poetic depth.
